Don Lodge is a professional portrait artist with a passion for oil paints.   His studio is based in York but has worked with delighted customers from all over the UK.  Painting with oils has always been Don's main interest, and over the past 30 years he has dedicated many hours practising and developing technique, and mastering the art of mixing paints and colours.  Dedicated to art, he will paint anything and everything, yet loves the attention to detail and character potrayal that portrait painting specifically offers.  He has not received any formal training but has studied extensively, haunts exhibitions, and collaborated with many art professionals over the years. 

Don uses Michael Harding Oil Paints (www.michaelharding.co.uk), which are also used by Chris Ofili and David Hockney.  They are handmade, durable, and add extra vibrancy to Don's work.
